Songshan Lake Science City, located in central Dongguan and in the golden hinterland of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, is an important node in the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Science and Technology Innovation Corridor. In July 2020, as the first launch area of the comprehensive national science center in the Greater Bay Area, the construction of Songshan Lake Science City was elevated to a national strategy, positioning itself to "build into an original innovation highland with global influence."
In the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, reporters from all media of Southern Finance saw that the scientific and technological innovation system of the entire chain, entire process, and all elements is providing source momentum for high-quality development. At present, the laboratory has made breakthrough progress in the research and development of third-generation battery materials, and strives to quickly introduce new material batteries into the global new energy vehicle industry after building a 1Gwh material and battery demonstration factory and innovation community.
Following China's Spallation Neutron Source, the construction of Asia's first and the world's second large-scale attosecond pulse scientific facility has also made important progress and is expected to start early by the end of this year. The advanced attosecond laser facility is jointly built by the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Western Institute of Optics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with the participation of the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory. Through high starting point design, build a multi-beam line station with high repetition frequency, high photon energy, high flux and extremely short pulse width, providing ultrafast coherent radiation with the shortest pulse width less than 60as and the highest photon energy up to 500eV, and equipped with A corresponding applied research platform will be built. Once completed, the comprehensive indicators are expected to achieve international leadership.
